Penalty Points
- We like a clean race. Our Stewards review incidents post-race via Discord and penalty points can be awarded for unsavoury driving
- If you are involved in an incident you feel wasn't your fault you should report it in our #stewards-review channel and it will be looked at
- If you would like to be a part of our stewarding team put your name forward in our Discord channel
Penalty Points System
- One head steward will be joined by two race stewards from the F&F Administrators, selected at random and announced in the Discord prior to the race.
- Incidents will be reviewed immediately post race. All lap 1 incidents will be reviewed.
If you wish to have any post lap 1 incidents reviewed, please post the lap number and driver name or car number in the stewards-review channel, then join the Stewards voice channel to listen to the review. - Incidents can be judged to be a level 1, 2 or 3. Each level yields that number of penalty points.
- Level 1 - Awarded for any of the following offences...
- Blocking in qualifying
- A small error that causes contact when racing alongside another driver
- Level 2 - Awarded for any of the following offences...
- Driving into the rear of another driver
- Being judged to have little control when making contact with another driver when racing
- Blocking in reaction to an attempted move - causing another driver to change their line by moving before or in the braking area
- Level 3 - Awarded for any of the following offences...
- Attempting a reckless overtake (see overtaking rules below)
- Rejoining the track in an unsafe manner, including rejoining traffic after a spin (reduced to level 2 if no significant impairment made to another driver)
- Deliberately defending against a driver who is attempting to lap you
- Brake checking - the act of sharply hitting the brakes whilst driving with a vehicle behind you, with the intention of making the unsuspecting vehicle slam on their own brakes
- Causing a collision due to attempting to drive an excessively damaged car
- Not escaping back to the pits when stationary in a dangerous part of the track
- Level 1 - Awarded for any of the following offences...
- Penalties for lap 1 incidents are increased by 1 level. So, if you cause a level 3 offence on lap 1 you will be awarded 4 penalty points.
- Any penalty points awarded will result in 5 points being permanently deducted from that driver's league points for that race.
- If a driver has 3 or more penalty points they will be mandated to skip qualifying and start at the back of the grid at the next race they attend. This applies for every 3 penalty points.
- Fast & Fuelless Administrators reserve the right to remove drivers with poor driving standards from the series. Intentional wrecking will result in an indefinite ban.
Overtaking
It is the responsibility of the driver that is trying to overtake, to make sure that the pass is made without contact. While driving behind a car, you are 100% responsible for avoiding contact.
To obtain right of road position, the overtaker's car must have significant overlap of the car that is being overtaken, before they reach the corner's turn-in point. Bumper next to bumper is where overlap starts. Door next to door is 100% overlap.
- If there is no overlap before turn-in point ahead drivers have the right to take any line through a corner.
Ahead drivers have the right to choose any line down a straight, but only one move to defend their position. See also section on Defending. - If there is overlap before turn-in point the car on the outside has the right to outside room all the way through the corner, while the car on the inside has the right to inside room all the way through the corner.
- During an overtaking manoeuvre both cars can't use the optimal line, so both need to slow down in order to stay on their side of the track.
Dive Bombing
If you are attempting an overtake and there is no overlap before turn in, the car in front can close the door, any contact will be your fault and penalty points will be awarded.
Blue Flag
If a blue flag is displayed on your screen, it tells you that a driver who has completed more laps than you is going to overtake you and you are not allowed to defend. Overtaking rules are still in place, so keep on driving on your normal racing line. This is again important to be predictable. If the driver behind is within 0.5 seconds, you must slow on the next straight.
Defending
While you are not blue flagged, you may try to avoid being overtaken with only one direction change per straight. Movement in reaction is blocking.
If you make your move, after the car behind you made his move, that is blocking. Making your car wide by not using the optimal line is defending.
Pit Exit
While leaving the pit, you are not allowed to cross the pit exit line.
If you are on the track and a driver is leaving the pit you are not allowed to cross the pit exit line.
Rejoin After A Spin
Never cross the track perpendicular to the racing line. Never rejoin with incoming traffic. Sit patiently and wait for the track to be clear before rejoining.
When you spin, lock the brakes and don’t move until the track is clear, even if you are in the middle of the track.
It is much easier for others to avoid you if you hold still.
